Whirlpool Refrigerator not cooling? 🥵 Here's what was actually wrong

Got a call this week in Cranston about a Whirlpool refrigerator section not cooling properly - food going warm, ice building up where it shouldn't be 🧊

Diagnostics found that the evaporator fan motor in the freezer had failed. When that fan goes out, cold air stops circulating through the fridge compartment, temps rise, and you get frost or ice buildup in the evap area.

Common signs of a failed evaporator fan ⚠️
• Refrigerator not cooling, but freezer still seems to work
• Ice or frost buildup inside the freezer or around vents
• Warm spots in the fridge compartment
• Fan noise that's suddenly gone quiet or is louder than usual

I replaced the fan motor, cleared the ice buildup, and tested the unit to confirm it was cooling properly again 🥶✅️

Rhode Island is about to heat up! 🥵🔥

With dangerously high temperatures and humidity expected this week, now is the time to make sure your home stays as cool and comfortable as possible.
