🦋 YOU can help save the butterflies! 🦋
We’re just a week away from our 4th Annual Hudson Valkey Pollinator Festival (6/6-6/7). Co-hosted with , our Pollinator Festival aims to educate, encourage, and engage with all of you about how you can help Save the Monarch.
Have you ever wondered why you don't see as many monarch butterflies fluttering through your garden lately? That's because monarchs are endangered and at risk of being lost forever. Herbicide use, habitat loss, and milkweed — the only plant monarch butterflies lay their eggs on and that their caterpillars eat— has been disappearing at a rapid rate. This is only one example of declining native plant and pollinator populations that help fertilize our crops and flowers. The Hudson Valley Pollinator Project, a collaboration between the Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery and Orange Environment, has been working to turn this situation around by encouraging everyone to plant native plants like milkweed to help monarchs and other pollinators survive! So join us at the winery on June 6th & 7th, 12 to 5:30 pm, for our 4th Annual Hudson Valley Pollinator Festival to support these efforts. Come listen to great music, check out the British Car Show and visit the Artisan Market...then stroll through the Native Plant Demo Gardens and head to the Native Plant Sale to choose from 17 different types of beautiful plants that help our pollinators survive! Also stop by tables hosted by some of our local environmental groups devoted to supporting our pollinators. And don't forget to pick up your free milkweed!
