Why We Celebrate Juneteenth

06/18/2026

At Mechanical Rubber, we believe in supporting the communities where we live and work, and we are honored to be a Platinum Sponsor for the Warwick Juneteenth Festival on Friday, June 19 from 10AM – 5PM at Stanley-Deming Park.

Hosted by the Union AME Multicultural Church and community partners, this annual celebration honors freedom, culture, heritage, and unity through a day filled with live music, poetry, dance, art, educational activities, community exhibits, multicultural food, and family-friendly experiences. The festival serves as an opportunity to reflect on history, celebrate diversity, and bring people together in the spirit of community.

We are especially proud to recognize our own Wayne Patterson, who will be serving as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) for this year’s event. Wayne’s passion for community engagement and his commitment to bringing people together make him the perfect person to help lead this meaningful celebration. We are honored to support him as he takes the stage and helps make this event a memorable experience for all who attend.

Events like the Warwick Juneteenth Festival remind us that strong communities are built through connection, understanding, and respect. These are values that Mechanical Rubber President & CEO, Cedric Glasper, exemplifies through his leadership at Mechanical Rubber and encourages throughout our organization. We are proud to support events that celebrate diversity, foster unity, and bring people together.

We look forward to celebrating with our neighbors, customers, friends, and community partners.

Meet this year's Manufacturing Leadership Champion:

Cedric Glasper, President & CEO of Warwick-based Mechanical Rubber, is a manufacturing leader known for his commitment to both industry and workforce. Since 1995, he has helped revitalize struggling facilities and preserve jobs through four strategic acquisitions that prevented plant closures and restored opportunity for displaced workers.

Cedric serves on the boards of the Council of Industry, the Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers, and the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his leadership ensured operations continued and employees remained on the job.

Beyond his business leadership, Cedric is an active community advocate, serving organizations including the Orange County Workforce Investment Board and United Way.
