"Be Proactive."

One of the habits from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey, and one that Ms. Alexandra is already putting into action.

As part of our Legacy Team, students are reading this book and learning how to apply its lessons to their everyday lives. Ms. Alexandra didn't just read the material; she took it a step further and created her own set of flashcards covering the habits and key concepts to help herself better understand and retain what she learned.

No one asked her to do it. She simply wanted to learn more.

This is what leadership looks like: taking ownership of your growth, going beyond what is required, and developing the discipline to invest in yourself.

We're incredibly proud of the initiative, effort, and maturity Alexandra continues to demonstrate. Keep leading by example, Ms. Alexandra! 👏

Most kids smile when things are easy.

The kids at Mastery Martial Arts learn to smile through the challenge.

Every stretch, every drill, and every difficult moment is teaching them something bigger than martial arts. They're learning perseverance. They're learning confidence. They're learning that hard things aren't something to avoid, they're something to overcome.

Character isn't built when life is easy. It's built when you keep going anyway.

That's exactly who these kids are becoming. 💪🥋

A fast shuffle axe kick is impressive
A controlled back kick that stops exactly where it's supposed to is even more impressive.

Today, Aaron showed something we work hard to develop in every student: self-control.

Anyone can throw a technique. It takes discipline to control it.

Every class, Aaron is becoming more focused, more confident, and more disciplined. Those qualities will take him much farther than any kick ever could.

We're proud of the young man he's becoming. 🥋🔥

Every student on this wall has something in common.

They all started as white belts.

No special talent. No shortcuts. No guarantees.

Just a willingness to step onto the mat, work hard, and keep showing up.

Over the years, they've faced challenges, setbacks, tough classes, and moments where quitting would've been easier. Instead, they chose perseverance, discipline, and growth.

Today, they represent what Legacy is all about, not being the most talented, but being the most committed.

We're incredibly proud of each of them and excited to see where their journey takes them next.

We're excited to kick off the Mastery Run Club with Mr. Davy, Ms. Lemoi, and Ms. Sjostedt!

Whether you're a runner or just looking for a fun way to stay active with the Mastery community, we'd love to have you join us.

Our first run is June 21 at Lincoln Woods, with monthly runs continuing throughout the summer and fall.

Last night, under candlelight, we welcomed our newest Black Belts.

Black Belt is not a destination, it is a symbol of years of discipline, perseverance, leadership, and growth. These students have proven that they have what it takes to overcome challenges and keep moving forward when things get difficult.

Congratulations to each of you. Your journey is just beginning, and we couldn't be more proud.
