There are six major shipping choke points in the world -- the Strait of Malacca, Suez Canal, Panama Canal, Strait of Hormuz, Bab al-Mandab, and Turkish Straits. Iran already influences two of them. The Strait of Hormuz directly, and the Bab al-Mandab through their Houthi proxies in Yemen.
