As the year wraps up, I’m feeling grateful. I’ve had the chance to work with nonprofits and community organizations in both Finland and the U.S., helping with fundraising, grants, membership growth, and communications. Working across two nonprofit cultures keeps reminding me how much practical, focused work—and trust—really matters.

Thankful for the people, the conversations, and the collaboration this year. Looking ahead with a lot of appreciation. ✨

Want to impress your funders and donors? An Impact Report clearly and convincingly showcases the difference your organization is making. It’s more than just a report—it’s a powerful tool that:

Onko yhdistyksesi kasvun jarruna ajatus, että ”riittävästi” on tarpeeksi?

Moni yhdistys asettaa tavoitteekseen vain sen, että tulot kattavat kulut. M***a mitä jos ajattelu käännettäisiin toisin? Mitä jos tavoitteena ei olisi vain selviytyminen, vaan kasvu, kehitys ja suurempi vaikuttavuus?

Voittoa tavoittelematon ei tarkoita, ettei saisi tehdä voittoa – se tarkoittaa, että kaikki tuotot investoidaan vaikuttavampaan toimintaan. Kun yhdistys uskaltaa tavoitella enemmän, se voi tarjota laadukkaampia palveluita, reagoida joustavammin muutoksiin ja tarjota ratkaisuja yhteiskunnallisiin haasteisiin.

Onko nykyinen rahoitusstrategianne itse asiassa kasvun este? Pitäisikö yhdistyksen tavoitella enemmän, jotta sen vaikutus olisi aidosti kestävä ja merkittävä?

Pieni ajatus lahjoittamisesta 💙

Olen vuosien varrella lahjoittanut lukuisille yhteisöille sekä Yhdysvalloissa että Suomessa. M***a kuinka moni on kertonut minulle, mitä lahjoituksilla on saatu aikaan? Tai kutsunut mukaan toimintaansa muullakin tavoin kuin pyytämällä lisää?

Valitettavan harva.

Lahjoittajasuhteita ei synny yhdellä vuosittaisella pyynnöllä. Mieti hetki: jatkaisitko tukeasi, jos et kuule mitään takaisin? Tekojen tiistai on loistava hetki pysähtyä ja pohtia: miten voimme kiittää ja sitouttaa heitä, jotka jo uskovat meihin?
