"My first thought hit the floor. And that's what I did. I got under the table. I stayed there, and I prayed."

This week, I shared my experience after gunfire erupted during the White House Correspondents' Dinner. I am grateful that my students and I were not physically injured, though we are still working through the mental and emotional impact of what should have been a historic celebration of journalism and freedom of the press. I believe our students will grow stronger from this experience, and together we are moving forward.

Thank you, 13News Now - WVEC, for the opportunity to share my story. I also appreciate all your calls, messages, and support as we move ahead.
