Burnout is real. I’ve met her too many times 😮‍💨

2024 showed me to take better care of my time, money, skills and energy.

2025 I’m playing my resources smarter not harder. I’m listening to the past lesson, learning from them and doing something different to stay out of burnout’s hood.

Do you know where your time is going?

Time management is a key factor in your success. It’s something we don’t get back and have to stop treating it like it’s replaceable. Knowing how long it takes to complete a task can dictate your price and position in the market. Ex: getting a task complete in a 1/2 hour because you have 20 years of experience vs in 5 days because you just came out of school.

In blue-collar jobs, there’s often a clear beginning and end to your workday, with little flexibility. You know exactly what you have to do for the 8 hours.

In white-collar roles, you’ll likely face more ambiguous hours, project-based work, and the need to manage your own time efficiently. You don’t know what the day brings but your helps you streamline.

Learning to set boundaries and prioritize your work is essential to using your time wisely.

Use them to reflect your personal leadership style.

Make a statement to set a trend and your tone.

Be bold and have fun with it. Everything doesn’t need to be so serious 🧐.

Treat them as such❕

here’s a place where your upbringing and professional life can differ.

In spaces you might be able to get away with not communicating or acting a fool.

In spaces supportive relationships are how you access opportunities.

People’s attention spans may be short but they have long memories. They don’t forget how you make them feel.

As a reminder your relationships can last 20-40 years depending on how long you stay in the workforce so start choosing people who

🪴are traveling to the same place as you
🪴are interested in celebrating you
🪴have challenges that your skillset can be a solution

Don’t be so quick to cancel the people who are not doing these things this season. Professional opportunities have a way of making people spin the block. Professional and personal spinning the block are not the same. It’s up to you to have the discernment to know the difference.

Write your own story ✍🏽

Not letting other people tell me the size of my dreams or which path to take got me this degree from

I went to 3 schools to get my degree because the counselors tried to make me settle for their version of my life. I wasn’t having it ❌✋🏼

I worked two jobs and took six classes to pay for the tuition out of pocket.

I survived a domestic violent relationship with someone who didn’t want me to be a business woman.

I gave everything I had and more to get this degree 📜

Growth is painful because you’re trading your old thoughts, actions and behaviors to become someone new.

Don’t let them tell you what’s possible for you. Pick up your pen and write what’s next for you ✍🏽

Stay ready 🤞🏼

Whether you are looking or comfortably in your position you should always have an updated resume to help you build the lifestyle you want to live.

I’ve been knee deep in updating my students resume and here are the 5 tips that were hurting their chances of getting through the loops. Sharing is caring so take what you need and share it.

📈 Use a clean format where people can find your value quickly. You have 6 seconds for someone to review your resume. Nobody wants to go on a scavenger hunt. They’ll pass you up.

📈 Make sure your resume tells the story of who you are growing into using the experience you have and ambition towards your goals.

📈 If you sound confused or don’t believe in yourself neither will the person reading your resume.

📈 Use action words to describe your value and to show you’re not lazy or unimpressed. Ex: Collaborated with senior management to evaluate and optimize operational processes for a tech start-up

📈 Use numbers to showcase the problems you were solving. Ex: 70% open rate for marketing campaigns sent to 20,000 people monthly.

Developing a compelling and robust resume is one of the best investments you can make to secure the lifestyle you want to live.
