This Veterans Day, we recognize the crucial work, ongoing service and sacrifice of our veterans. We’re proud to work alongside you on our team and through our partnerships across DoD. Our CEO, Scott Williams, shared his connection to this day below:

"Today, we honor the millions of US veterans who have served our nation and acknowledge the sacrifices they and their families made to keep our country safe. As the grandson of two decorated soldiers (World War II and Korea, respectively) and the stepson of a Vietnam War pilot, I cannot overstate my appreciation for their extraordinary dedication, courage and heroism.

The work Throughline does on behalf of the military has deepened my respect and admiration and it has been a privilege to work alongside those in uniform and the dedicated civilians that support them.

Those among us that have earned the title of "American veteran" answered the call to serve our nation and defend our ideals of liberty and democracy. Without them, America would be a very different place.

Thank you to our team members that have bravely served our nation and to the families that have supported them."

To honor we want to highlight the Movimiento Muralista (Muralism Movement) and how the power of visual communication transformed Latin America.

Following the Mexican Revolution in 1920, the Mexican government sought to revitalize the people and communicate the country's story with everyone—including those who were illiterate. The government commissioned artists to paint murals in public spaces, such as federal buildings and schools, to instill pride and ignite social change. The movement built an entirely different language through visuals and used art as a communication tool. Though the movement was popularized in Mexico, Muralism has since grown throughout all of Latin America.

At Throughline, we believe in the power of visualization and humanizing complex communications. Today, Latine muralists apply the same principles by using murals as visual platforms to raise awareness, universalize messages and inspire connection.

Swipe through the next few slides to learn about a few of the many Latine muralists keeping the tradition alive.

Strengthening Cyber Safety Through Storytelling: With the safety of critical stakeholders and key assets top-of-mind, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) recognized cybersecurity as essential to protecting the organization and its goals. To counteract cyberthreats, USPS formed the Corporate Information Security Office (CISO), but faced the challenge of effectively communicating with over 250,000 Postal employees. Determined to help cut through the noise, Throughline swooped in to support USPS-wide efforts to shift its culture surrounding security.

Throughline leveraged visual storytelling to craft a visual identity for CISO, including the name and logo that would appear on its communications to USPS staff: CyberSafe at USPS™. From posters to videos to intranet pages, Throughline developed a communications plan that balanced repetition and novelty, while employing a diverse portfolio of marketing materials to educate employees.

Ultimately, Throughline’s work helped empower USPS employees to take responsibility for maintaining proper cybersecurity. CISO’s visual identification reinforced its relationship to USPS employees, who actively learned new methods of protection through monthly campaigns and regular cybersecurity reminders.
