The “Double V” campaign stood for two victories: victory abroad and victory at home. During WWII, many Black Americans fought for freedom overseas while also pushing for equal rights and dignity here at home.
Years later, I think the message still applies.
Many of us are still fighting on two fronts. Chasing success while protecting peace. Building businesses while building families. Showing strength while working through pain. Serving others while trying not to lose ourselves.
The lesson isn’t just “win.” It’s to make sure the victories around us match the victories within us.
A promotion means little if you lose your peace. Financial growth means little if your family falls apart. External success and internal success don’t have to compete.
Double V still matters:
Victory in the world.
Victory at home.
What does your second V stand for?
