ible for leading familial, organizational, communal, societal, and global transformation--all while receiving the least amount of relevant and meaningful support for their basic health, leadership, and human needs. When a Black woman awakens her divine power, cultivates it in the company of other Black women, and channels it toward her life’s purpose, her influence is limitless and felt for generations. Three dimensions of aligned leadership. Most people are operating from one or two.

JAM — What energizes you. The work you could do for hours. The thing that produces aliveness even when it’s demanding.

CRAFT — What you’ve built skill in. What clients hire you for. What your professional reputation is built on.

CALLING — What you’re here for. The specific contribution only you are positioned to make, shaped by everything you’ve lived and what genuinely moves you in the world.

Divine alignment lives where all three converge.

Permission is not a small thing.
Not the kind Dawn is talking about.
Not permission to take a day off or skip a meeting. The deeper kind.

Permission to be a human first.
Permission to be part of a diaspora with a specific history.
Permission to hold all of your identities at once — not just the professional one.
Permission to take the 360 view of yourself that leadership rarely makes room for.

There's a question at the center of The Grounded CEO:

Can you be ambitious and regulated — or does success require instability?

For most of her career, our Founder Shayna Renée Hammond was told — implicitly and sometimes explicitly — that the two don't coexist.

That the drive, the sacrifice, the willingness to push through discomfort is what produces results.

That if you're too grounded, too regulated, too at peace — you're not hungry enough.
She doesn't believe that anymore.

And The Grounded CEO is her most honest answer.

The most powerful entrepreneurs and leaders are not the ones who pushed hardest through the pressure. They are the ones who learned to stay rooted inside of it.

Sustainability. Delegation. Permission to be imperfect.

That's what became possible for Shamera.

Not just in her business — in her home, her family, her leadership.

She built a schedule that works for everyone. She learned to rely on other people. She started to believe — really believe — that the business she's building can actually be impactful.

And she gave herself something she didn't have two months ago:
"I've given myself permission to slow down, just experience everything, even the small things. Appreciate even the things that don't happen. Just those constant reminders that — it's gonna work out."

What would she say to herself two months ago?
"Take it slow. Don't rush everything. Things are gonna fall into place. Stay focused on the vision."

Before your next major decision, try this:

Pause. Create a physical interruption — stand up, step away, put the screen down.

Then get quiet enough to ask honestly: What do I actually know here? What direction is aligned — not just urgent, not just comfortable?

Then listen. Not for five seconds. Long enough for the noise to settle and the signal to surface.

Then move from whatever came in the stillness.

Pause. Listen. Move.

That's what hearing God in business actually looks like.

Shamera came in with a business to launch, a corporate job to keep, children and grandchildren to raise — and somewhere in the middle of all of it, she had lost sight of herself.

"I was losing the sight of making time for myself."

But the universe had a different plan.

The business opportunities didn't fall through. They just got redirected.
And instead of building the business first — she found a space to build herself first.

"I'm appreciative for the time I'm being able to spend here in the Grounded Lounge to build myself before building the business."

What shifted inside the Lounge wasn't a strategy or a system.
It was a mirror.

A coaching circle where the whole group reflected back what they received from her — and she finally got to see herself the way others did.
