No words can express how grateful I am to be the organizer of this event on Haiti. This initiative touched me a lot because of the double meaning it carried.

At first, it was a way to celebrate Black History Month in the United States. Most importantly, it is about showing the world Haiti's overall contribution to the emancipation of people of color.
I also want to thank my alma mater (GWU/ESIA), the moderator, Jonathan Morency and the panelists, Dr. Nathalie Pierre , Dr Robert Fatton and Giles Charleston for these enlightening discussions while providing important perspectives. My special thanks go to all participants.
