The cocktail is a unique and creative representation of a train and food service. Just like a train, the cocktail has different parts that come together to create a delicious and satisfying experience. The engine or appetizer is the first part of the cocktail, giving you the initial burst of flavor and setting the tone for the rest of the drink. In this case, the engine is made up of Borghetti, a strong and bold Italian liqueur that provides a powerful kick. But it’s not just about the strength, the engine also adds heat with a touch of habanero, giving the cocktail a spicy and invigorating element. And just like a train engine, it also has a touch of smoke, thanks to the addition of ilegal mezcal. But the engine is not complete without the finishing touches of cinnamon and chocolate bitters, adding depth and complexity to the overall flavor profile.

Moving on to the train cars or entree, we have the charcuterie board. This is where the different parts of the train come together to create a harmonious and satisfying experience. The charcuterie board, like the train cars, is made up of different elements that complement each other. From savory meats and cheeses to tangy pickles and sweet jams, each component adds its own unique flavor to the overall dish. And just like a train journey, the charcuterie board takes you on a flavorful adventure, with each bite offering something new and exciting.

But no train journey is complete without a final stop, and in this case, it’s the caboose or aperitif. The shot of Borghetti serves as the perfect ending to a great night. It’s a small but powerful burst of flavor, leaving a lasting impression and bringing the whole experience full circle. Just like a caboose, it brings up the rear, but it’s an essential part of the journey.

Throwing my hat into the ring for a competition with . So allow me to introduce you to the contender

Slow Reloader

I wanted to make something simple that can be recreated with easy at home so everyone can try and enjoy it. It is a spin on a revolver cocktail with a bit more punch with whipped cream to calm you down lol. Westward whiskey really brings out the spice as well as the sweetness to make it the perfect cocktail to end the night with or hide in a cup and wake up too for those teleworking 😁

2oz Westward Whiskey
1/2oz caffe borghetti
4 dash Haberno shrub bitters
Combine in beaker. Stir until chilled. Strain into coupe or Nick and Nora glass.

3oz heavy cream
1oz homemade barrel aged all spice dram(regular all spice dram will work as well
A pinch of salt
1 tablespoon sugar
Combine all in a shaker tin and shake vigorously for 20 seconds. If it’s too thick add 1/2 heavy cream 1/4 dram and give a stir. Pour over cocktail. If you have a whipped cream dispenser use this instead of shaking
