For more than 70 years, TMC’s member-driven Recommended Maintenance and Engineering Practices have been setting the standards that help trucking companies specify and maintain their fleets more effectively. Recommended Practices are developed by the Council’s 2,100+ members who provide input from their vantage points as fleet maintenance managers or industry suppliers of products and services. The
result is 2,000+ pages of illustrated, detailed guidelines that serve as the “bible” for fleet maintenance professionals. TMC hosts ATA’s largest annual meeting and trade show and at these gatherings, informative, hands-on technical sessions are offered and Study Groups gather for lively discussions about industry issues of the day. The Council also holds a National Technician Skills Competition (TMCSuperTech) each year, which draws hundreds of the most talented heavy duty mechanics from across North America.
