Advocates from Treatment Communities of America (TCA) conducted its Fall Board Meeting and Day on the Hill, meeting dozens of offices, releasing a position paper on SUD and Compulsive Gambling, and pressing for FY27 SUPTRS block grant funding to ensure access to essential treatment and recovery services. As the House and Senate continue working on the FY27 spending bills in the lame duck session after the midterm elections, it is critical to include urgently needed funding for this safety net of supports.

Winning Strategies Washington was proud to support members as part of their Washington Fly-In, including discussions with top Administration officials at USDOT and MARAD and with Members of Congress and their staff regarding policies that shape how goods reach people in every community in the country.

Topping the agenda, SCF advocates called for action on smart policies that affect goods movement and freight, including on the Surface Transportation Reauthorization, WRDA and its support for ports, enacting CORCA, and support for the Congressional Supply Chain Caucus.

WSW was pleased to support SCI which hosted a packed-house Congressional Briefing focused on accelerating breakthrough innovation in spinal cord injury treatment and fostering collaboration between patients, researchers, regulators, innovators, and policymakers.

The briefing will brought together leaders across health policy, regulation, clinical research, biotechnology, and the SCI community to examine the unique challenges facing clinical-stage SCI therapies. The speakers brought their tremendous experience and expertise to bear, discussing how better to advance more patient-informed regulatory pathways, including perspectives from former Acting Commissioner of FDA and Director of CDER, Dr. Janet Woodcock, Neurotrauma Expert Dr. Geoffrey Manley, SCI Research Pipeline Expert Dr. David W. McMillan, Health Policy Expert Gavin Proffitt, and NervGen CONNECT SCI clinical trial participants and members of the SCI community.
