The 5th annual DC Music Summit 2022 presents Foundation. , a three-day event, is an exchange hub of education, inspiration, and solutions to support the health and growth of DC musicians such as yourself.

DCMS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a proud history of accelerating the careers of independent musicians, with a focus on women, communities of color, and other underrepresented groups.

Since 2016, DCMS has served hundreds of individuals each year at its Summit, bringing together musicians, industry professionals, and influencers to advance the D.C. creative scene.

Posted • Guess who the keynote speaker for this year's DC Music Summit is?!

We are so pleased to have Anwan “Big G” Glover joining us this year. Anwan is the lead vocalist of the well-known and successful Washington DC-based “go-go” band “The Backyard Band” or “BYB,” which he co-founded in 1988. It's still the hottest band in DC, guaranteed to sell out venues today, after 20 years of being on the scene. Also, known as “BIG G” and “G PRINCE,” he was on air at 93.9 WKYS and 95.5 WPGC and had the number one show on Sunday nights for both consecutive stations.

In addition to being a musician and a radio personality, Anwan is also an actor. His professional acting career kicked off in 2002 when he auditioned for the HBO series “The Wire.” When he’s not busy pursuing his acting career, Anwan is an active player in the Nation’s Capitol’s movement against violence. He was appointed his own “Big G day” by former DC Mayor, as well as accolades that have him as the unofficial “KING OF D.C” for his involvement in the community. Anwan’s philanthropy work has been frequently recognized throughout the years because of his ability to tell his own story of redemption.
