Mike Stein and Pete Jones use primary sources and modern techniques to revive historic beverages and tell stories about the past. Join us to taste history!

Mike and Pete have two decades of combined brewing and researching experience. Their skills and expertise range across many decades and b**r making regions. They have particular expertise in historical American Porter, having lectured on it before audiences at the Smithsonian Museum of American History and the National Homebrewing Conference. If there’s malt, water, hops, and yeast involved, they’re eager to explore it.

is a wrap. We were honored to be a part of the 52nd annual DC History Conference.

As we encouraged on our panel, raise a toast to Wilkes, Doll, and Hercules, pioneers of food and beverage in colonial times as we look ahead to 250.

Our presentation “George Washington Brewed Here” asked the key question: who actually made Washington’s b**r? We were glad to share our research as we’ve been accumulating knowledge brewing for Mount Vernon’s tavern and gift shop for the last five years.

We’re presenting “George Washington Brewed Here: Brewer Communities in Early Washington” on 5/2 thanks to and we’re so excited to see other historians, artists, and our friends Friday and Saturday at the DC History Conference. Hope to see you then!
