The dinner table may be where everyone gathers, but it isn’t the only part of the house they experience! They’re in the living room before dinner and moving through the house throughout the night. When I host, I like those spaces to feel like they’re part of the evening too rather than having all the attention stop at the table.

And that doesn’t mean decorating every room... even something as simple as using the same linen-feel paper napkins as guest towels in the powder room lets a little bit of the look carry through!

A few thoughtful details can make the whole house feel ready for company!

Look who’s making their way back to the table. 👀

To***co Leaf hardly needs an introduction around here… you’ve made it a best seller year after year! For fall, I love pairing it with deeper tones so all that color has something to play against.

Gold gives the table a little polish that makes everything feel more dressed for dinner. It catches the light beautifully too, which is especially good once the candles are lit!

Sometimes the table doesn’t need another color… it just needs one of the colors already there to speak up a little!

Instead of reaching for a completely new color, try to look for one that’s already there and take it a little further.

There’s a soft blue in these napkins, so the navy velvet bow gives the setting more contrast while still making sense with everything around it.

It’s a small change but it gives the whole table a little more personality, don’t you think?!?

Fall Plaid is basically a little styling cheat sheet hiding in plain sight. 😉

If you ever feel stuck on what to add next, one easy trick I always use is to pick a color that’s already in your placemat pattern and run with it.

For this table, I pulled out the green with the tablecloth and the velvet bow napkin ties. And I could just as easily bring in a blue plate because that little bit of blue is already right there in the plaid too! And when I’m in the mood to lean harder into fall, gold is always an easy yes!

You can use the same placemat and give your table a totally different vibe just by choosing a different color in the pattern!

If the internet teaches you one thing today, let it be this: a beautiful table doesn’t have to become a whole project.

Ten minutes is plenty when you start with pieces that already play well together. With our Fall Tabletop Bundles, a lot of the guesswork is already out of the way. And because the table is set with paper, cleanup is even quicker!

I will happily fill a table with flowers but I draw the line when everyone has to start playing peekaboo through the arrangement... 👀

Before guests arrive, I like to sit down and actually look across the table. If I think I can comfortably see the person opposite me, we’re good.

And if I want more flowers? I’d much rather add another smaller arrangement somewhere else than keep building one taller. Our Paper Vase Wraps make that especially easy because I can turn whatever little containers I have around into coordinating arrangements!
Because the flowers should be part of the conversation... not blocking it. 😉
