COLD FIRE®
Cold Fire© is “The Most Significant Invention in Firefighting.” It is made from an edible plantbase that formulates positive characteristics not found in any other extinguishing agent. Cold Fire© is the only product that can safely protect the environment, people and property involved. It is extremely effective at very low concentrations with an indefinite shelf life making it the most economical extinguisher on the market.
Cold Fire© extinguishes class A, B and D fires. It is 100% water soluble, biodegradable, nontoxic and non-corrosive. This allows for usage in any type of fire-fighting equipment without corroding or clogging lines and hoses. Cold Fire© encapsulates hydro-carbons and has high thermal insulating capabilities allowing it to extinguish the flames, reduce the heat and prevent re-ignition. It enhances decontamination from chemical and biological hazards by insolating the toxic fumes and compounds. This helps protect fire-fighters from toxic inhalation, heat exhaustion and the scolding and burning from hot steam
Cold Fire© has successfully completed toxicity, corrosion, biodegradability and UL testing. Six areas of toxicity were conducted by SGS US Testing Laboratories in accordance with protocols of EPA to ensure the product’s safety, including: oral, ocular, dermal, skin sensitization, inhalation, and aquatic, confirming that the product is non-toxic. SGS US Testing Laboratories also conducted corrosion and biodegradability testing proving the product is non-corrosive and biodegradable. UL listing was achieved for Class A and B fires in June of 1994. UL testing was conducted in accordance with NFPA 18 for Wetting Agents, UL 711 for fuels fires, UL 162 and for Class D (metal) fires on February 11, 2000.
Currently, Cold Fire© is used in and with the following applications/equipment: Added directly into fire truck booster tanks, fixed units, CAF (compressed air foam) machines, injectors, inductors, sprinkler systems, automatic fire extinguishing systems, closed loop systems, water mist systems, extinguishers, dust collector systems and forestry equipment.
Cold Fire© has been classified by the EPA in its SNAP List (Significantly New Alternative Policy Program) creating a clear distinction with its toxic, corrosive and comparably ineffective foam counterparts. Cold Fire© significantly reduces water usage when putting out fires. It also has strong surfactant capabilities making for easier cleanup after damaging fires. A fire can be a devastating event, which is why Cold Fire© should be used to protect the environment, the people and the property.
