Things that just make sense 🤌🏻

As a social media marketing business owner, I believe in working smart and working hard.

But just because there is a new Instagram feature or new viral trend, doesn't mean they're going to make sense for my business.

What does make sense?

Being efficient with my time by batch creating content and simplifying my tools and processes by using Google apps for just about everything.

And of course, by remembering why I started my social media marketing business in the first place- to help service based businesses get discovered online while having the flexibility to set my own schedule and work from around the world.

POV: You’re stuck at your desk, day dreaming about swimming in the Adriatic Sea.

This time last year I was in Croatia and about to spend a month in Montenegro. 🥹

The reason I started my own social media marketing business was so that I could travel more and work from anywhere.

Office job? Who’s she?

Even when I’ve lost clients, had to renew to tool I hate paying for but know I need, or was driven to tears trying to move my business from Virginia to DC, I’ve never thought about going back to a 9-5.

I love the freedom to work from anywhere and on my own schedule and I’m grateful to work with clients who I genuinely love.

So if you’re going through a tough time with your business, think about how far you’ve come and why you started in the first place. 🤍

There are a million tools and resources out there and I prefer to use as few and keep things as simple as possible.

Which is why I use Google Workspace to keep by business organized and functioning.

Here is how I use different features within Google Workspace...

✨ Google Drive

I use Google Drive to organize folders for myself and each of my clients. Within Drive I can also access all of the other features I use, like...

✨ Google Calendar

I have a different color-coded calendar for my own business as well as for each client.

Anything I have to show up live for gets turned yellow so it stands out and I’m never late.

✨ Google Docs

I use docs to plan captions, write proposals, keep notes and anything else I want to keep organized in a basic document.

✨ Google Meet

Forget Zoom.

I use Google Meet for Discovery Calls, client meetings, and video calls with friends.

✨ Google Sheets

Not only do I use Google Sheets to track my expenses and analytics, my content planning calendar is a Google Sheet.

Yes, I also use online tools like Metricool for content scheduling and Dubsado for invoicing, but if I was just starting my social media marketing business and only had the budget for one online tool, I would get Google Workspace setup.
