From March 3 to 20, iMMAP participated in a three-week Education Management Information System (EMIS) training workshop organized by the UNESCO Iraq Office.

The workshop brought together 15 Master Trainers — including seven women — alongside call center/help desk staff and system administrators from the Ministry of Education and the Literacy Commission. Participants gained essential knowledge and hands-on skills
to effectively use EMIS and address technical issues raised by schools and General Directorates of Education (GDoEs).

✅ As a result, the Ministry of Education is now better equipped to train Master Trainers and support teams at the governorate level, enhance EMIS system management, prepare for the new academic year, align subject data with curriculum updates, and implement
key regulatory changes.

This initiative also marked the first direct engagement between iMMAP and the Ministry of Education, opening the door for collaboration on EMIS operations, communication protocols, and the formation of joint working groups for future cooperation.

We are proud to support national education systems through data-driven capacity building and meaningful partnerships.

Third-Party Monitoring in Action

In , iMMAP continues its Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) project to strengthen transparency and accountability in efforts.

Our team is actively working across the Central and Southern regions, in partnership with Danish Refugee Council, Tetra Tech, Mines Advisory Group International, and our new partner Norwegian People's Aid.

As Ukraine remains one of the most mine-contaminated countries in the world, our monitoring and verification help ensure mine action efforts reach the people who need them most.

This vital work is made possible thanks to the generous support of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA).

Since the project inception in November 2022, iMMAP's TPM team has conducted a total of 560 field visits to monitor 190 and verify 370 mine action activities of implementing partners, including 121 demining actions, 178 surveys, 252 explosive ordnance risk education (EORE) sessions, 8 capacity building sessions, and risk
mitigation.
