On September 29, we welcomed 12 members of The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. to Orr Group's office for a conversation on capital campaigns and outsourced development, led by Becca Bennett and Steve Orr.

The group came with specific questions, drawn from their own nonprofit or board leadership experience. Together, we discussed a range of challenges that underscored just how central philanthropy is to organizational success.

Following an executive search led by Orr Group, we’re proud to announce that Patty Slutsky is joining Matriculate as its Senior Vice President of Advancement!

Patty brings more than 20 years of experience scaling nonprofits and securing philanthropic support. As the first-ever Chief Advancement Officer at the American Journalism Project, she designed three major capital campaigns that raised more than $270 million and served as a trusted advisor to major philanthropists and foundations on long-term giving. Before that, as Head of Global Development at Teach For All, she grew a global fundraising operation that raised more than $130 million over eight years. Patty will help Matriculate deepen major gift fundraising, build new partnerships, and strengthen the infrastructure behind sustainable growth.

Patty's connection to the mission is personal. As a first-generation college student, she knows firsthand how a collegiate education can change a life, and she is eager to help more students access that same opportunity for leadership and growth.
