IBM Center for The Business of Government

IBM Center for The Business of Government We connect public management research with practice. Since 1998, we have helped public sector executives improve the effectiveness of government.

Since its creation 15 years ago, the Center has awarded nearly 300 research stipends to leading public management researchers in the academic and non-profit communities that have resulted in over 200 reports - all of which are available our site. Our publications focus on the major management issues facing all governments today: e-government, financial management, human capital management, managin

g for performance and results, market-based government, and innovation, collaboration and transformation. In addition to our publications, the Center produces The Business of Government Hour - an interview program with government executives who are changing the way government does business. The Business of Government Hour, hosted by Albert Morales, Managing Partner of the Center, has interviewed over 275 government executives about their careers, agency accomplishments and management, and the future of government in the 21st Century. Past guests include Deputy Secretaries, Under Secretaries, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Operating Officers, and Commissioners from a range of federal agencies as well as state and local government executives. Tune in every Saturday at 9 a.m. on Washington, D.C.'s WJFK FM 106.7 and weekdays (Mon at 11 a.m. & Wed at Noon) on Federal News Radio 1050FM WFED. Or, you can download interviews and read the program transcripts on our site. The IBM Center is one of the ways that IBM seeks to advance knowledge on how to improve public sector effectiveness. The IBM Center focuses on the future of the operation and management of the public sector. This page is managed by Ruth Gordon, and follows the IBM Social Computing Guidelines.
