Born September 6, 1757 Marquis De Lafayette, at just 19 years old, crossed an ocean. He gave himself to a cause that was not yet his own and to an idea the world had not yet dared to attempt. The cause was democracy. His unwavering dedication, passion and character earned the trust of two nations.

This is why he is our namesake. We find a cause worth believing in, earnestly champion it and rally people behind it.
