As cannabis legalization sweeps the nation, another phenomenon has been on the rise in communities across the country: opioid overdoses. And for Black communities in particular, death by overdoses is approaching crisis level, increasing by 5x from 2010 to 2020. That’s why our firm is deeply passionate about our work with Phoenix House of NY|LI a rehabilitation and substance use recovery non profit that offers housing, resources, and medical programs to support those in New York struggling with substance dependency. From free Narcan distribution and 1:1 therapy, to holistic wellness workshops, skill development training, and opening a beauty training program with a few years back, Phoenix House has been working to support the health of communities in New York for over 50 years. AND, BRG is excited to be a part of their anniversary Gala happening this upcoming Tuesday, where we’ll be celebrating 55 years of impact at Phoenix House (where will also be honored).
