In just 10 days my Lola is turning 100 years old! Oh how I wish I had the time and money to fly to CA, to thank her in person for helping raise me when I was young, to see her smile and hear her stories. While my parents were out working late, I grew up watching her skills in sewing (she handmade all my dresses), her ingenuity in the garden (we literally ate the fruits - and veggies - of her labor), her creativity in art and decor (she was always making something)... we played school together (I even made her pledge allegiance to the flag and take math tests lol), she taught me Filipino cooking, and she imparted nuggets of wisdom (from staying healthy, to real estate, to boys 😂). She's strong and tough, and her encounters with the Lord are amazing. Since I can't be there I'm pouring out whatever I can to help my mom celebrate with friends and family, and collect an album full of memories to remind her of the 100 years worth of blessings she's been in our lives. ❤️

Tested out one of my printer's metallic foiling on our Christmas cards this year. Give it 2 more weeks and they'll make their way to your mailboxes in the US of A 🤗

Happy 2018!! The highlight of our year was renewing vows with my love. 10 years as his bride, 8 years as mama bear, 15 years designing... he's supported me through every new turn and passing tide in my business ventures. He understands my passion to create and tolerates the artistic mess I bring into our home! 😆 This year I'm closing doors of my freelance design services for an unknown period of time in order to focus on a new business venture. It's an idea conceived 4 years ago that just won't go away, and I haven't made enough room to focus and finally develop it. So this will be the year! It's scary, it's exciting. And I'll definitely be back to share it with you! Wishing you all the best year ever! 🎉

My dear friend gifted me this book Called to Create for Christmas and it couldn't have been more timely as I'm about to close the doors of my typical freelancing design work and transition towards new endeavors. I'm just one chapter through and I love celebrating how God was the First Entrepreneur. He brought order out of chaos and created beautiful, remarkable things (out of absolutely nothing!) for the good of others. Those who know me, know I have infinite ideas... This constant conviction to problem solve every detail, meet a need, improve quality of life and bring joyous experiences is because I am God's Co-Creator, made in His image, called to utilize my talents, artistically rearrange materials and emulate my Creator through my work. I'm super excited to read on and let God transform the way I create and do business! If anyone wants to join me, encourage and keep each other accountable, I'm happy to discuss and journey together!

Holiday hosting was fun and done... now it's time for snacking on leftovers, lounging around, and doing nothing but enjoying each others' company. Merry Christmas from Okinawa! 🎄

Winter is the busiest time for me. Even though this year I chose not to exhibit or sell my Okinawa Christmas cards (debating if I should do a blowout sale??)... once my regular clients' projects were complete, I immediately shift to church + family personal projects (amidst the endless baking, cooking and hosting.) Phew! The fun never ends. But Christmas is still my favorite holiday! 🎄❤️💚🎁

The mini wreath tags return for the Women's Progressive Dinner at my church. Thank goodness for the Daiso who had the supplies I needed so I can craft them up again! 🎄
