Hey Leader! Heads-up, if today finds you with all your ducks in a row, keep on scrolling. For everyone else, I'd like to share regarding knowing when to leave, when to stay, and when to buy an RV!
Allow me to explain...about 10 years ago my '80' something godfather and my husband were talking during one of our large family gatherings. The topic came up regarding how my godfather was maintaining the emotional strength to care for my godmother who at the time had been living with Alzheimer's for over five years.
He told my husband, "I don't give it much thought, it's my duty." He went on to share how he and my godmother had experienced tough times over the life of their 60! plus year marriage (most of it his fault). During one especially challenging season they decided to pack-it-up and go RV'ing for a few months. My godfather ended his conversation with my husband sharing, "if it weren't for those months living together on the road (recapturing our love for one another) I could not care for her the way I do and will until the end."
Leader! Are you about to make a serious life choice to moveout, quit, or quietly resign because you feel you've gone too far to stay or have endured too much pain from those you lead to keep showing-up?
Let's say what's happened ties to your marriage and you're about to move out, not sure whether divorce is the end goal but definitely moving out. You've got the place and in days you'll be moving in. What if, just what if you hit the breaks on that decision, got out of whatever lease you got into and buy an RV instead? That's right, take all the money you would spend (let's say on a year lease, furniture, dishes, etc.) and go buy that toy you always wanted.
In a recent post I mentioned life allows for U-turns. Might you consider a U-turn before you drive off a cliff of no return?
