TNSDS had the pleasure of working in Wrangell, Alaska, earlier this year. In cooperation with the City of Wrangell and the Wrangell Cooperative Association, TNSDS responded to and assessed an inadvertent discovery made during development of the Alder Top Village Subdivision.
Our team conducted archaeological investigations and data recovery to document and evaluate the discovery to ensure that cultural resources were identified, documented, and treated in accordance with applicable cultural resource protection requirements. The investigation also provided an opportunity to further our understanding of Wrangell’s rich cultural history and the long-term occupation of the Shoemaker Bay area.
We appreciate the opportunity to work alongside the City of Wrangell, and the Wrangell Cooperative Association, to help preserve Alaska’s cultural heritage while supporting responsible community development.
