🇺🇸 Jefferson Barracks was established in 1826 as the first permanent U.S. Army post west of the Mississippi. It trained soldiers for every major war through WWII and today serves as a national cemetery honoring America’s veterans.

August opens the door to remembrance and American spirit. From the brave guardians of our shores to airborne heroes and silent warriors of WWII, this month gives us reason to proudly raise Old Glory and reflect on the cost of our freedom.

This Month We Remember:

August 4 – Coast Guard Day
We salute the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard who have protected our wates and saved lives since 1790. Semper Paratus.
August 7 – Purple Heart Day
A solemn day to honor the brave service members who were wounded or gave their lives in defense of this nation. We see you. We remember you.
August 14 – Navajo Code Talkers Day
Honoring the Native American Marines whose unbreakable code played a vital role in Allied victory. True unsung heroes.
August 14-15 – Victory over Japan Day
A defining moment in WWII. We pause to remember the generation that fought, won, and rebuilt a world.
August 16 – National Airborne Day
Dedicated to America’s paratroopers whose courage and readiness have shaped military history since 1940.
August 29 – Marine Corps Reserve Birthday
Celebrating the faithful Marines who stand ready to answer the call.
