Congrats once again to Ben for being our employee of the month. He just loves those attics on 90 degree days. Good job, Ben!

Make sure to stop in at Exit Midstate Realty for some food on June 9th. They’re good people for a good cause.

I know radon systems are not the most aesthetically pleasing feature on a home when I have to route them outside, but they can clean up nice with a little paint. This homeowner took the time to paint all the parts I dropped off prior to install and he did a fine job.

Putting a ladder in the attic to get up to the attic is next level stuff. Crawling through that opening to make sure the customer is happy with their radon system install is just regular Abatron stuff. 🤘

It’s that time of year! When we hit single digit and sub zero temperatures for multiple days in a row, radon systems have the potential of freezing up due to the massive amounts of moisture they exhaust. Newer exterior installed systems have a bypass just above the radon fan so homeowners can spin the cap out of the bypass if their exhaust pipe freezes up. If you don’t have a bypass or you don’t notice your system has froze up; don’t worry! The radon system will thaw itself out once temps reach 15-20 degrees.

It’s National Radon Awareness Month. Get those homes tested and call Abatron if you need a system, but don’t take my word for it; listen to this guy on the news.

Happy Birthday to Marie Curie! First female Nobel Prize winner and a pioneer in radioactivity! The measurement unit of radon is named after her: The picoCurie! One trillionth of a Curie! Radon nerds unite! (Yes, she died of radiation poisoning.)

Marie Curie was a pioneering physicist and chemist who discovered polonium and radium, advancing the study of radioactivity—a term she coined. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and remains the only person to win Nobel Prizes in two different scientific fields: Physics and Chemistry. CC ...
