I try to keep my powers as a meteorologist (weather predictor/gambler) at a minimum but as most novices can deduce - well, it's been a tad bit hot out and by the my continued purchase of deodorant, the 90s (not the decade) will continue for the next 3 weeks. However, I refuse to sit under my comfy AC unit without doing what I can do to help the summer season transition into "gone". I decided to change out my large celtic ring quilt to one that says, "Fall is just around the corner." A big thank you to Renee Stevenson who quilted it for me. No need to thank me, I am just doing my job. R

I am an exclusive Baby Lock sewing machine dealer and have access to Baby Lock swag. An item I now have in (limited) stock - miniature Solaris replica USB sticks. In addition to selling (Baby Lock) and servicing sewing (and embroidery) machines, I also have the ability to embroidery fonts and designs. One of my questions to the customer is, "what font would you want?", and we've have to go through the machine. To make the process easier on the both of us, I stitched out a small display to show customers the various choices to choose from! Tada! All you have to do is come in with your item and select the number. Pending the project, turn around is pretty quick. Disclaimer.... as I was trying to take a picture, my helper Ulysses wanted my attention as you can see.

Has your handwheel ever become suddenly stiff? Are you running out of thread usually fast? This handwheel art happens more often than you would think. Don't fret - your machine is probably due for a service anyway. Just in time for the fall projects! R

Many people come into the shop commenting on the huge quilt on the wall - and yes, it could have been bigger. I stitched out 7" blocks and could have gone to 9" blocks! This one is called "Sisterhood" and came out in 2018 though HoopSisters.com. The pattern is still available through their website. I named mine "Celtic Dream". You will need an embroidery machine with at least a 5x7" hoop. You can stop after the first square as shown (64 blocks) or add the extension border (my last pic). Does this mean anything to anyone out there? In just over 3 weeks from now, the frenzy we know as football begins again for the 2026 season. FIFA (soccer) has nothing on the SEC. (Footnote: The University of Tennessee (Volunteers) is one of the founding members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), having been a part of the league since it was established in 1932.

Underneath a machine in the dark secret areas of the carriage, I find a plethora of unique fibers, fuzz and funk. Many of you will be entering your projects into your county's fair soon - maybe even to state! I highly recommend as a former procrastinator that you do not dilly dally as the fall sewing season is upon us. If you want your creations to be the best they can be, you must respect your machine or it's happiness will wain and you will be so sad when it finally gives up on you. My turnaround is pretty fast - just ask the thousands of satisfied customers.... (could be exaggerating that a bit...) - but I digress. Come give your machine the spa day it deserves!
