Isaac is ready for a great Fair! Isaac is representing Minnesota 4-H as a State Animal Science Ambassador this year. He will be at many events and meeting tomorrow ready to welcome 4-Hers to the Minnesota State Fair Livestock encampment. If you see him say hello!

Calling youth exhibitors! Come to the State Fair Livestock Exhibitor Get Together on Wednesday, August 26th from 2-3 p.m!

Why should you attend?
- Get to know other 4-H youth
- Review specific species information
- Walking tour of important locations
- Ask questions and learn from experienced 4-H exhibitors!

Open to all 4-H exhibitors but geared for:
- Three or less years of experience at State Fair
- Exhibitors showing a new species
- Exhibitors with small county delegations

Hosted by the 4-H Animal Science Ambassador Team. Location at the White tent between Christensen Pavilion & Como Avenue.

The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service confirmed classical scrapie in a sheep slaughtered at a facility in Oregon on July 31. This is the first case of scrapie found in the U.S. in more than five years.

Scrapie is a fatal, degenerative disease that affects the central nervous system of sheep and goats.

The U.S. was on the way to eradicating the disease by 2028, if it could make it 7 years without a new case, but this confirmed detection could reset the timeline. Read more about the case at the link in the comments.
