Metfab International, Inc. Sheet metal fabrication and powder coating Metfab International, Inc. is located in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley near downtown Waynesboro.

Established in 1987, we operate from a 34,000 square foot facility with easy access to and from I-64 and I-81. Metfab has a sound reputation for producing precision sheet metal components from hot roll, cold roll, galvanized, and stainless steels as well as aluminum and copper. Primarily providing parts to OEM’s in the Mid-Atlantic Region, we have formed solid relationships with many industries in

cluding communication, file storage and retrieval, film processing, food service, HVAC, medical, navigation, portable power generation, power distribution, recreation, refrigeration, and robotics, among others. Read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, electronic and manufacturing prints, drawings, and schematics.

Troubleshoot, repair, install and remove basic mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment and systems.

Perform emergency, corrective and preventive maintenance on same.

Troubleshoot, repair, install and remove vehicular equipment, infrastructure and systems.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment of all kind and provide training - to production personnel as needed.

Provide management with detailed account of work performed to maintain a complete and accurate equipment history.

Examine and modify equipment settings to troubleshoot and optimize performance.

Diagnose and replace faulty equipment components.

Shearing, punching, forming, welding, hardware insertion, finishing and powder coating.

Strong math skills is a plus.

Experience working with blueprints is a plus.

Experience with CNC machinery a major plus.

Job duties for most positions include but are not limited to:

1. Operating CNC machinery or supporting other workers who do.

2. Checking parts and tooling using calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.

3. Working with tight tolerances.

4. Producing parts for assembly operations.

5. Meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements.

6. Performing spot inspections of parts.

7. Performing routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.

8. Completing and maintaining paperwork.

If you're highly motivated, able to learn and show up to work on time and ready to work, we might have something for you.

Job Duties include:

1) Establishes part spacing, hook and fixture requirements, and need for wiping down or blowing off product.

2) Sets up proper boxes, skids, cardboard and other packing materials.

3) Adjusts chain conveyor speed for optimum part treatment and painting based on paint type and other factors.

4) Applies masking materials according to manufacturing documentation and packages as required for transport or storage.

5) Loads and unloads product from the chain conveyor.

6) Operates the three-stage wash, monitoring and adjusting chemical levels and temperature as needed.

7) Operates the bake oven and exhaust fans to control oven temperature.

8) Inspects and replaces hooks on the chain conveyor as needed.

9) Sets, adjusts, and operates powder coating and dust collection equipment.

10) Assemble parts into larger assemblies as needed.

11) Drains, cleans and maintains wash tanks. Cleans and replaces nozzles as needed.

12) Dismantles paint system components, cleans and reassembles, replacing worn out components as needed.

13) Performs color and scratch tests on cured coatings to determine proper adhesion, mil thickness, color, and rust-free condition.

14) Cleans oven and dust collector system components, including baghouses.

15) Report defects of errors observed before loading and/or after the painting process.

16) Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required at times and assisting other team members.

17) Keep records of activities.

4. Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.

5. Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.

6. Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.

7. Work with tight tolerances.

8. Produce parts for assembly operations.

9. Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.

10. Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications.

11. Perform spot inspections of parts.

12. Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to
procedures.

13. Complete and maintain paperwork.

14. Identify assembly parts.

15. Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum & regular steel).
