Everyone will need the services of a notary public at some time. Blue Mountain refers to the beautiful area in which I am located and where I do most of my notary closing business and general notary work. Notary loan closing is required for people selling and purchasing residential property or commercial properties. Home Equity Lines of Credit, Reverse Mortgages, and mortgage refinancing are some of the loans that have documents requiring a notary witness and seal. The primary responsibility for the notary closing agent is to confirm the identity of the person or persons signing the documents. For General Notary Work such as Power of Attorney, Advanced Medical Directive (Living Wills) the notary has the additional responsibility for determining whether signer demonstrates willingness and awareness before agreeing to the Power of Attorney or the Advanced Medical Directive. There are many documents that fall under the heading of General Notary Work that may even include notarisation of an apartment rental lease or a new motor vehicle title.
Notary pubics are not always attorneys or paralegals although some attorneys and paralegals also have a notary commission from the state.
