This April, Chief Dan Cordova and the Waynesville Police Department are proudly wearing blue badges in honor of Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month! 💙

The blue badge is a visible way for law enforcement to communicate their understanding and support of autism to the community. As a law enforcement agency, we are committed to serving and supporting individuals with autism and their families within our community.

Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month emphasizes the need for public awareness of the challenges faced by children, teens, and adults on the autism spectrum, promoting acceptance and celebrating the ways autistic individuals contribute to the diversity and strength of our community.

We are proud that the City of Waynesville and the Waynesville Police Department stand together in support of our neighbors, friends, and families touched by autism. 💙
