you guys, it's been so long since I've blogged, I've totally forgotten my login information -- including my log in link!
I was going to do this in a sentimental blog post, but whoops.
At any rate, it's time for me to confess a very big change in our lives. As of today, we are officially no longer owners of Blue Frame Photography. After years of agonizing "do we stay or do we go" contemplations, we've made the very difficult decision to walk away from owning our own photography business. It isn't because we didn't love it -- we did. We loved meeting all of you, working with you, doing what we could to make your wedding day so, so special. We loooooooved that part. We loved capturing your very special moments, your details, the ups and downs and chaos of wedding days, but it does take a toll after a while. And after we had our son last year, it suddenly became clear to us what our priorities really were. We could no longer be parents, plus work full time at our university, and for me, also be a grad student. We had a choice to make between continuing our business through it all or choosing between our fulltime jobs or the business. And as much as we've loved every minute pouring our hearts and souls into Blue Frame Photography, we love our son, our family, so much more. We want to spend weekends with him, go to special events with him, watch him grow. And so we chose to keep our fulltime jobs and close our business, which is like shutting out a piece of our hearts. Please know it was not an easy choice to make.
So what's in store for us? Oh, many, many wonderful things, I'm sure. I'm working towards a master's degree in Higher Education Student Affairs in which I hope to become a career counselor. And who knows, maybe one day I'll work towards a doctorate degree (ha! not likely, but maybe :) I'll also be working with our good friend, Woody White, with Forte Photography (www.fortephotographync.com) helping him edit his awesome creations, and I'll even be second shooting on occasion. I'm not throwing this part of my life completely away -- just drastically reducing it for the benefit of our family. And maybe one day, we'll decide to get back into it. But for now, we're enjoying our time together as a family.
Please enjoy some of our favorites in recent years. There have been so many moments of joy, but we're particularly proud of these. And if you would, to make me smile, would you post your favorite photos we've taken of you in the comments below?
Until next time, friends!
