Anyone else fallen victim to the editing while writing trap 🙋🏻‍♀️?

Glad it's not just me 🫣.

The temptation is strong, but resisting it will benefit you in the long run.

You don't stall just before the finish line because you're lazy. You stall because you can't see what you can't see.

Most nonfiction writers don't need more words. They need sharper ones. If you're circling the same sections, overthinking comma placement, or wondering what to do after developmental edits, you're probably ready for a copyeditor.

If you want your manuscript to read as confident, credible, and unmistakably yours, let's talk!

Publishing a book or course content is vulnerable.

You’re putting your ideas, experience, and voice out into the world. The last thing you want is to feel unsure about whether it’s landing the way you intended.

That’s why my editing process includes a second round.

Not just to fix every little comma, but to make sure your ideas are clear, your message is strong, and your authority comes through exactly how you want it to.

You’ll have space to ask why I suggested certain edits, talk through formatting decisions, and refine anything you’ve revised so that you can hit publish feeling confident, not second-guessing.

Let’s move your project forward with clarity, thoughtful collaboration, and full respect for your voice. Swipe through to learn more!

Ever wonder how your editor stays current? For me, learning never stops, and this week I'm doing it in my favorite cozy sweatshirt (not pictured because I forgot to take a photo 🙃).

Today was day 1 of the ! This is my third year attending, and I keep coming back to this conference for 2 reasons:

1. The coffee chats let me talk directly with authors and get a real feel for what they're navigating right now. This ensures my services are solving the right problems.
2. I get to connect with other editors and publishing professionals. I always walk away with practical tips and updated industry knowledge (which I can bring straight back to my authors!).

Because the best thing I can do for you is never stop learning. What's one thing you wish your editor understood better about your experience? Tell me in the comments!

Hello again 👋🏻 After a long hiatus, I am back!

◦ essay collections, and
◦ more!

I approach editing as a partnership. My goals don’t just include fixing grammar, structure, and flow. They also include respecting and preserving your voice to let your ideas shine while maintaining a quality reader experience. Through this partnership, we can move you forward another step in your writing journey.

Tell me—what projects are you working on right now?

If you’ve edited your content into the ground and it still doesn’t feel like it’s landing, that’s a sign that your voice is missing.

Yes, clarity matters, but your audience also wants to feel something when they read your words.

Bring back:
» your rhythm
» your phrasing
» your perspective

This helps the reader connect with you in a way that's different from anyone else.

You’ve learned all you can about writing craft and have started working on your draft, but now comes the part no one prepared you for:

Finding an editor who actually gets your book.

It’s easy to panic and hire someone too fast.

If I were starting from scratch, here’s exactly what I’d do to save time, money, and a lot of second-guessing.

Editing is not just about fixing typos.

It’s about making sure your story sounds like you and says what you actually meant to say.

Making sure every sentence carries your voice, the structure pulls readers in, and they can’t put it down—even when life gets busy. That’s what gets someone to highlight your lines, write a review, and tell their friends to immediately add it to their TBR.

That’s the difference between editing just for grammar and what you get when you hire me as your copyeditor. Your words deserve that kind of clarity, confidence, and connection.
