Almost all of our services have been restored.

We wanted to give a shout out to Duke Energy Indiana , WIN Energy REMC, Hoosier Energy, Harrison REMC, Miami-Cass REMC, Sparklight and Metronet Fiber. All these guys have had their work cut out for them recently. Despite all the challenges they worked through the nights and weekends to get services back up and running. 06/29/2023 Knox County, IN Outage
We're currently experiencing outages across Knox County due to power related issues.
Customers will not need to do anything, once power is restored service will resume automatically.

We also have some damaged fiber. Technicians are aware of the issues and are looking for solutions. Services are running on backup lines so some slowness should be expected until full service is restored.

There is currently no estimated time for a fix.

Tower Climber Technician

*6 MONTH PAY INCREASES for NEXT 2 YEARS*

Job Summary:

Responsible for the installation of all aspects of wireless tower site electronics and hardware, cabling, and electrical where applicable.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Successfully complete and maintain the tower safety and rescue training program.
Climbing and working on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment; performs tower maintenance.
The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.
Inspect completed work to ensure all hardware is tight, antennas are level, hangers are properly fastened, proper support is in place, or adequate weather proofing has been installed.
Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.
Run appropriate power, ground, fiber, Cat5e and/or coaxial cables
Inspect telecommunications equipment to identify problems.
The ability to climb tall structures up to 250 feet with a load.
Transport equipment to work sites, using utility trucks and equipment trailers.
Lift equipment into position safely, using rigging tools or equipment such as capstan hoist.
Complete reports related to outages, project status, progress, or other work details, using phone and computer
Employee weight and tools combined may not exceed 300-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.
Climb towers to access components, using safety equipment and techniques learned from the tower safety and rescue training program.
Must have and maintain a valid driver license and follow the guidelines set forth in the Echo Vehicle Fleet Safety Policy.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

Comfortable and recent experience working in the outdoor
Work with basic hand tools
Basic computer skills
Ability to check and send emails
Ability to correspond through text messaging apps
Must have a team-oriented mentality and be safety conscious
Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check
Must pass in-house training program
Must have a valid driverโ€™s license with a safe/acceptable driving record in compliance with company policy

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment

Work Environment/Hazards:

Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind
In proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles
High noise level
Use of PPE
Climbing and work in an elevated position that is +/- 250 feet with climbing equipment
Will be required to attend and complete On the Job training

Physical Demands:

Stationary position for 8-10 hours a day
Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of 50 pounds or more
Must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up a vertical tower repeatedly
Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers and work in an elevated position that is +/- 250 feet
Frequently required to use hand and power tools

Irregular hours
Monday through Friday

Min 40 hours, flexible schedule
Overtime as needed
Outage on-call availability based on team size, work area and access to company vehicle

Travel Requirements:

40-60% travel required
Overnight required as needed

Job Summary:

The Field Installation Technician requires excellent customer service skills and technical ability. The position requires completing customer installations, service visits, on-site troubleshooting, and recovery of equipment. Work is performed on site at customer locations both with a physical aspect of installing Internet equipment, as well as a technical portion of updating databases.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Perform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate serviceability.
Diagnose customer problems at service calls and restore functional service to existing customers.
Install new customers with Internet service based on technology available, which includes mounting equipment at or above roof height, running Cat5-E or Fiber Optic cable from outside to the customerโ€™s desired location.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

Must be professional in dress, speech, and manner.
Ability to work independently, using sound judgement principles.
Must demonstrate a desire to learn, supported with a love for technology.
Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check.
Must be able to use tools to install equipment.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind
Working in elevated places such as towers

Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more

Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places.
Frequently required to use hand and power tools
Must have the ability to climb extended heights upwards of 200 feet
Employee weight and tools combines may not exceed 300-pound limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.

40 hours minimum, flexible schedule
