Ice Cube is an 8-year-old grade gray gelding standing 14.2 hands with plenty of shape, substance, and eye appeal. If you’re looking for a dependable, seasoned heel horse that is ready to go win on, Ice Cube deserves a serious look.

He is a finished heel horse with all the mechanics you could want. He is excellent in the box, scores consistently, has plenty of rate, and a big stop. This outstanding 2015 AQHA mare is the kind that everyone is looking for but very few can find. She is gentle, dependable, experienced, and suitable for a wide variety of riders and jobs.

She is by Hallmarks Success, a son of SR Hallmarked, an NCHA Earner of $60,829 and sire of earners exceeding $748,000. SR Hallmarked is by the legendary Docs Hickory, one of the greatest sires in cutting horse history and an NCHA $21 Million Sire.

This mare’s pedigree also traces to the great Peponita, expertly shown by Matlock Rose to earnings of $126,221. Peponita was the 1979 NCHA World Champion and became an NCHA $2 Million Sire.

On the maternal side, she goes back to the Pitzer Ranch foundation sire Mr Baron Red. He earned over 340 AQHA points and became one of the most influential horses in the Pitzer breeding program, siring offspring that accumulated over 6,740 AQHA points and produced four AQHA World Champions.

DZ Doc Hollywood is a 2020 AQHA Dun gelding by Bar C McCue Freckles. He has been a consistent sire of good ranch and rope horses. His lineage traces back to NCHA Open Futurity Champion Colonel Freckles. He was a phenomenal performer and proved to be an elite sire despite an early death at just 13 years of age. His get excelled in NCHA, NRCHA, and NRHA events.

This good-looking gelding also goes back to the very popular and versatile sire Docs Hotrodder and Otoe on the paternal pedigree.

The maternal pedigree goes back to the Eddie and Driftwood lines. These horses both have a storied history of being great ranch and rope horses. Their toughness and durability have made them extremely valuable to ranchers and rodeo contestants through the years.

Beau rides nice with a good handle and is easy to ride all day long. We’ve tracked the sled and roped some outside cattle on him. He really has a future as a rope horse and has been used primarily as a turnback horse for us.

Beau is a stout-made gelding that fits a lot of people. Whether you need something dependable and fun to ride or a gelding to make a World Series Rope Horse out of, Beau will fit the bill. He’s a soggy-made gelding pushing 1,150–1,200 pounds. You don’t see many geldings with his durable conformation, and he’s very well balanced with a cool-colored dun coat.

He is consigned by Debbie Crafton of Ordway, Colorado. Debbie is the All-Time Leading Non-Pro Rider in the NRCHA. Her family runs cattle and a grow yard in Southeast Colorado. They use horses on a daily basis, and every horse has a job. Her show horses get used on the ranch just like this gelding has.

Debbie’s youngest kids ride Beau regularly, and she’s always been careful what horses she puts them on. Beau can be a little watchy on the ground, but he’s gentle and a nice gelding.

It gets harder and harder to find young, good-looking geldings every day. This gelding has been in good hands and knows what a day’s work is. He’s lightly started in roping and should be easy to get on live cattle and ready to haul before long.

Between their cattle operation and elite show program, the family simply doesn’t have time to rope. Debbie is always a contender to win the NRCHA Futurity, and her kids are extremely competitive in the NRCHA Youth Division.

Nice gelding—just the kind that makes people do a double take when you ride up on him. If I could still ride, I would be hard pressed not to buy him because he looks like I think one should. Perfect size, and he’s the kind that will stay sound a lifetime.
