Hey Legacy warriors, let’s use this cold snap to our advantage of living a more peaceful life and stay warm doing it: let’s purge our houses!
Here is a great list to start with and yes I believe in having the kids help because they need to learn how to do this too for when they’re adults. No one wants to see their kids/parents on hoarders in the future 😉
Have a trash bag for trash, a bag/box for donate, and a bag/box for time will tell. Put today’s date on the time will tell bag/box. If In 6 montha you haven’t pulled anything out of the time will tell bag/box, then it gets donated! Set a calndar reminder In 6 months about this bag/box to get rid of it.
-Kitchen: move all your drinkware to the counter or table- pick out your/spouse/kids 2-3 faves of each type. Whatever is left can go in the donate and time will tell. Do this same process for all your kitchen items. Remember the goal is to have less inventory to handle daily/weekly that stresses us out, causes more work, and tells us we are failing at keeping up with it all.
-Kid’s, spouses, and your clothes: if it’s ripped, stained, doesn’t fit well, or has a negative memory attached to it, then it goes. I see you hole-filled sock & underwear hoarders 👀. Your under clothes shouldn’t have more holes in it than Alex Murdaugh’s alibi.
-Shoes: I don’t care how cute, costly, or who gave them to you- if they pinch, hurts your feet, haven’t been worn in a year, are worn out, etc…Girl, they gotta go!
Just pick one area, put a timer for 15 mins on and go ham on it until the timer goes off. If you feel like you can do more, then reset timer and keep going.
Post your results after and encourage those who post! I have faith in you! — feeling motivated.
