The Cultural Toolbox — Traditional Ojibwe Living in the Modern World

October 14th, 2026 — 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Tribal Government Center
4264 Admin Rd
Webster, WI 54893

Join acclaimed author and scholar Anton Treuer for an illuminating exploration of Ojibwe traditions and their vibrant role in today’s world. Drawing from his book, “The Cultural Toolbox,” Treuer shares the story of one Ojibwe family’s seasonal practices — hunting, gathering, harvesting, and celebrating — revealing how cultural identity and spiritual connection endure and evolve across generations.

Through personal stories and cultural insights, Treuer guides us through the four seasons of the year and the four seasons of life, offering a rare, intimate look at living Ojibwe traditions. Discover how Ojibwe people have adapted their rich heritage across diverse homelands — from the Great Lakes to the prairies — while maintaining a strong sense of identity and community.

This event is an invitation to understand and appreciate the resilience, beauty, and relevance of Ojibwe culture in the modern world. Whether you are new to Ojibwe traditions or seeking deeper connection, you’ll leave with a greater appreciation for the enduring power of culture and the wisdom it offers for all of us today.

This event is open to the public. It will not be live streamed. Please join us. Miigwech.
