Leadership Development – more than a workshop…
Developing leaders requires Transformational Change (see #3 below). It’s a mindset of leadership attitudes and beliefs. A mindset won through hard introspective work combined with methods of leading that achieve consistent and expansive results.
1. Incremental Growth – related to attaining new skills and knowledge
• Small step-by-step changes, atte
ndant with minimal impact or disruption
• Often associated with learning a new skill or attaining new knowledge
2. Developmental Growth – related to creation of new habits and behaviors
• Tends toward an evolutionary approach (“trial and error”), development of new habits and behaviors
• Often accompanied by a ‘new’ awareness of motive needs/drivers and personal attributes
• A measured approach to personal change, can be seen as work, may require extensive time/coaching
3. Transformational Growth – related to creation of objective and expansive attitudes & beliefs
• Intense personal/professional change, results from modification toward objective attitudes and beliefs
• Expansive, revolutionary in nature (“a new person” approach), ‘everything looks different’
• Unbiased awareness of limiting core beliefs, judgments and feelings that have limited success
• Often disruptive and intensely valuable when leading an environment requires significant modification
