"I'm in the wrong place."
I felt like a supporting actor in someone else's story.
I knew I wasn't where I was supposed to be, but had not idea how to get there.
So I practiced stepping outside of my comfort zone.
I was working in an office -- one I no longer felt passionate about -- by day and by night I was hustling.
It started with photography.
That's what brought you here so long ago -- my journey included photography.
I didn't set out to be a photographer. I set out to freeze time -- to help someone else remember a moment and cherish it for the rest of their life.
And what I did mattered.
It was the photo that hung in your bedroom and reminded you that time is swift as you watched the little one from the picture grow and grow and grow.
It was the moment you cherished as you said goodbye to someone that once stood with you.
It was the joy you felt as you reminisce on the day you wore white and made a commitment, not even knowing the joy that was ahead of you.
But that journey wasn't for me forever.
Like those people in your photos, I've also grown and changed.
I have purple hair now. :)
But I also have increased my skills, and stepped deeper into the things that I feel passionate about.
Like telling people they have worth.
Like reminding you that you are not just one bad day or bad choice.
You are capable of so much more than you can even imagine today and a full and meaningful life is so close you could touch it.
But many of you don't know that yet.
Maybe you have something really rough going on in your life right now and it seems so hard to see the light.
Maybe you're tired and you just don't know how you're going to make it through this year.
I'm here to remind you, just as when I was photographing you, that this is a moment in time.
--Who you are today is preparing you for who you can be tomorrow. --
