Went to the Big Nine District HS Cross Country Championships, here in Wenatchee at Walla Walla point Park. Grandson and brother Luke and Tyler ran for a different high school teams- Luke for Wenatchee and Tyler for Eastmont

Both boys finished in the middle of the pack in their respective races. For Tyler, cross country was just a vehicle for staying in shape for the upcoming wrestling season. But for Luke it was a lot more important.

This was a senior season and his last opportunity to earn a spot to the state cross country tournament, which was a goal of his since he first started running as a fifth grader unfortunately, for Luke, his leg bone structure has caused him to endure six stress fractures in his lower legs and today he ran ( in pain in his lower legs ) But he gutted out.

Now the C-Country season is over for both boys and it is to wrestling for Tyler at Eastmont and Swimming for Luke at Wenatchee HOOAH

Left to right. Me, Pete Weber, Chip Small and Dan Reisenauer.

Chip and I took it On Pete and Dan in combined score match play. Chip offered our opponents a stroke a hole as part of the negations ( 18 strokes 🙁) We lost four and two so drinks and munchies in the clubhouse we’re on Us. actually I played pretty darn good an 80 from the combos with two birdies Chip played well and so did did Dan. But the shocker was Pete ( aKA SANDBAGGIN’ Peter ) who complained about playing with new clubs but well enough he did’t need the 18 strokes ’

I went to Tyler’s high school wrestling tournament at Cheney high school in Cheney Washington. There were 32 wrestlers in his weight bracket. It was a huge tournament. Stock full of really good wrestlers from around the inland Empire.

Tyler wrestled hard and won his first two matches, but lost his next two to finish out of the medal round.

But I continue to be impressed by his work ethic and attitude. He takes his losses as learning experiences vowing to get better after each one. As a testimonial to this commitment, he’s come back to beat three wrestlers in a second match that he lost to in their first.

I have known Buell Hawkins for at least 19 years! Followed both his successful Political and Management careers! I also noted his opening up a new line of consulting business.

Fast forward a few years and this last summer I got involved in a development opportunity that was a bit complicated. I thought of Buell and called him. I no sooner hung up the phone up when Buell was calling back with some preliminary ideas. Over the next two weeks he advised me daily on the progress on his end. The job involved knowledge in emergency procedures, multi government agencies at the Federal, State, County and Municipal levels, Information on rules, overlapping jurisdictions and much more. It also required a knowledge of individuals at each level and their responsibilities. Buell was able to work through all of this and much more!

At every meeting he came ready to work. Always with additional ideas, contacts, and information. Most of the time he was ahead of the curve in getting me information.

Something that is often overlooked. Many consultants will provide you a bill. But Buell provided me, every week, with a summary of hours he spent on the project. It made it easy for me to know where we stood and how close to budget.

Would I hire Buell again? Absolutely!

Will I also recommend his services? YES!!

It was a great day at the Chelan county fair. I hung out in the livestock sales arena and it brought back so many memories of years gone bye- the hundreds of young 4H and FFA kids who raised critters that I purchased on behalf of Valley Tractor.
Today I was copilot for current, Valley Tractor, owner manager, DALE Hall.

We teamed up to help this outstanding young man , Jesus Estrada from Manson by buying and then flooring his pig 🐖 Jesus is the two time President of his FFA Chapter, works part time at Blueberry Hills ( where I met him) and is on the honor roll at Manson High After graduation he plans to attend WSU ( GO COUGS) and major in viticulture.

I encouraged him to apply for a Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) Scholarship And I volunteered to write a letter of recommendation on his behalf

Played golf today in the Washington Tree Fruit Association Golf ⛳️ Tournament at Highlander for the Banner Bank Team Left to right Kevin, Jake , Dave and myself.

On the right is my favorite Cart Gal - JJ (Madison it’s a tie between the two of you )

The four of us had a blast and finished nine under in the scramble format - not good enough to win 🥇 but hey it was a great day other than the flippin’ wind 🌬️ and smoke 💨

The final results are in for this year’s Columbia Cup pitting Three Lakes Men’s Club vs Highlander Men’s Club.
Highlander was behind by eight points ( 4 matches) going into today’s matches at the Highlander Golf Course
He came down to the last foursome of the day with the score, tied even
The outcome was one match, settled buy for first place. Result was Washington state getting in the finals for the money draw
This year we had 36 pairs of golfers, 18 foursomes, and the ability to get to a private conference room with the judge
Highlander gets a trophy hooah 😤

John and Christie’s granddaughter, getting her first ride on a Kubota tractor👍😊

I keep this tractor in my garage for grandchildren of my neighbors to ride when they are visiting. This tractor is what my grandchildren rode when they were. The four Hawkins boys are now two at 14 one at 15 and one at 16.

Well, my client and I, Perrin Cornell presented a proposal to the Rivercom board this morning offering properties that would solve their problem of not having a suitable location while also not having the ability to bond construction of a new facility

Prior to going into executive session, during which, Perrin and I were rightfully excused. The executive Director, for Rivercom stated the properties offered would work, the architect in the room, representing the city of Cashmere, said the steel structure we were proposing on a build to suit lease with option to purchase was best suited for a class four building required of a new Rivercom structure.

At the end of executive session, we were invited back in the room and we’re told that they were not ready to make any decision in part, because one of their board members was not in attendance today but also they had other options they wanted to consider first

What they should have offered was a refundable, earnest money agreement, holding the property for 60 days while they did a feasibility analysis and comparison of our property vs their other “options “
Instead, they offered nothing other than they would talk about it again at the next meeting 30 days from now

I asked “ so you’re telling us if we have the chance to sell the property before you meet 30 days from now , we should sell it “! The response from the chair was sell it.

What I did not share, because it may not have been viewed as credible was that Perrin has a trucking company client coming into town this weekend to look at the property proposed to Rivercom

Because I was the first chairman of the board for Rivercom and was directly involved in the construction of their current facility and negotiations for the lease of the same , rivercom, and it’s public safety mission will always own a piece of my heart That said, I hope Perrin sells the property this weekend; I truly truly do
