Well, my client and I, Perrin Cornell presented a proposal to the Rivercom board this morning offering properties that would solve their problem of not having a suitable location while also not having the ability to bond construction of a new facility
Prior to going into executive session, during which, Perrin and I were rightfully excused. The executive Director, for Rivercom stated the properties offered would work, the architect in the room, representing the city of Cashmere, said the steel structure we were proposing on a build to suit lease with option to purchase was best suited for a class four building required of a new Rivercom structure.
At the end of executive session, we were invited back in the room and weâre told that they were not ready to make any decision in part, because one of their board members was not in attendance today but also they had other options they wanted to consider first
What they should have offered was a refundable, earnest money agreement, holding the property for 60 days while they did a feasibility analysis and comparison of our property vs their other âoptions â
Instead, they offered nothing other than they would talk about it again at the next meeting 30 days from now
I asked â so youâre telling us if we have the chance to sell the property before you meet 30 days from now , we should sell it â! The response from the chair was sell it.
What I did not share, because it may not have been viewed as credible was that Perrin has a trucking company client coming into town this weekend to look at the property proposed to Rivercom
Because I was the first chairman of the board for Rivercom and was directly involved in the construction of their current facility and negotiations for the lease of the same , rivercom, and itâs public safety mission will always own a piece of my heart That said, I hope Perrin sells the property this weekend; I truly truly do
