Lindsley Waterproofing, a long time client of mine, is a small family business in Durham, NC. As a business they were among the companies that got "essential status". This will keep their business open for now. Without this status they would have had to go out of business forever. Fifteen people would have lost their jobs.

There are many small businesses that did not get the "essential" designation or even a partial way to open i.e. restaurants. And these companies are going out of business as I write this. Some are praying for congress to pass the newest Coronavirus Response Act, back in the Senate again. But this is not going to be quick enough for many.

For companies like my client, who has been able to remain open, they are going to need the support a month or two down the road and that needs to come from people using the services of small business. My plea is for the community and government take this as an awakening of the impact to your neighbors and friends that small businesses have when they cannot survive.

Erik Thompson found me in 2012 to help him with the manufacturing design of his Body Crank, later .named the Core Crank. We worked together to make a design that could be assembled and sold in a supply chain. He left me to go work on fundraising to get his product to market. I can see that he went after this with all his heart.
He gave me the 2nd ever working prototype that I proudly have to day.

Erik Thompson, a Detroit entrepreneur and track coach who invented fitness equipment, died after leukemia diagnosis.
