Our Safety team kicked off summer the right way for our Quogue and Southampton teams by offering some good eats to their colleagues! Each summer, WM focuses on employee safety, from staying hydrated and knowing the signs of heat-caused illnesses to our regular standards when operating machinery and more.

Employees at all our sites will be taking part in this year's initiative, which is titled "Safety Never Takes The Summer Off!"

In observance of Memorial Day this Monday, May 25th, please be aware of the following service updates:

- Our offices will be closed.
- Residential and commercial customers on the East End will receive service on Memorial Day and continue on a regular schedule for the remainder of the week.
- All other collections operations may take place up to one day after their normal schedule through Saturday, May 30th.
- No bulk pickups are available during holiday weeks.

All collections operations will return to their normal schedule beginning June 1st. Thank you for your patience and have a safe holiday weekend.

SAFETY FIRST: Our team members have been doing their part to ensure that they are prioritizing safety in various situations. Our Collections team recently participated in WM's Hazardous Energy Control Program, also known as "Lock Out/Tag Out," which prevents machinery from being turned on while undergoing maintenance.

Separately, our Long and Short Haul teams had a refresher on WM's Life Critical Rules and defensive driving practices. These rules address the most serious risks faced by our employees on a daily basis.

Recently, our Controller Agnes Falcone was honored at the Richner Live Events Business Women of Long Island awards ceremony. Agnes was part of a select number of women executives across Long Island who were nominated and recognized at the event.

Agnes has over 30 years of experience in the solid waste industry, spending 20 of them with our team.
