Ryan Dunn, President and owner or Primary Abstract, presented this morning on the importance of utilizing a good title clerk. He provided insights into how to adapt to protect transactions.
Ryan makes it clear that he prioritizes catching errors and smoothing the process for any real estate transaction he involves himself with, anywhere in the transactions, whether or not it's his direct responsibility.

Derek, owner of Rock Pointe Insurance presented today on the benefits of being a fully independent insurance brokerage, and illustrated how many of the large insurance companies use subsidiaries to try and take advantage of independent insurance providers.
He's committed to avoiding such traps and staying fully independent with access to competing coverages so he can work to get the best coverage for the best rates to meet his clients' needs.
Derek periodically compares coverages even for existing clients, sometimes at his own expense, because it really drives him to do what's best for the client amidst an otherwise often confusing and dishonest insurance world.

Kevin Craig of Core Property Management spoke today about how tenants potential to leads to problems for landlords, and best practices to get out ahead of that. The five points he touched on, each in depth were 1) Make sure the unit is nice and well maintained, 2) Market your property everywhere, 3) Incorporate a robust full application process, 4) Keep the relationship between landlord and tenant professional, and don't let it become personal, and 5) Avoid significant rent increases on good tenants.

Ken Pitts of Advisor's Mortgage presented today on the relationship between oil prices and mortgage rates. He also touched on the Homes for Heroes program which gives back to 1st responders, healthcare workers, teachers, veterans, and active military.
