Safe + Sound Week [August 10th - 16th] is more than a participation badge — it is an opportunity to evaluate how safety shows up in daily operations. At Corr Safety Professionals, we believe effective safety and health programs are built through three core actions: Management leadership that sets expectations, provides resources, and keeps safety visible.

Corr Safety is proud to support organizations in building safer, stronger workplaces.

One million safe work hours. One shared commitment to doing the job the right way.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the Linden Renewable Energy Project reaching the remarkable milestone of 1,000,000 safe work hours without a recordable injury.

This achievement is far more than a number—it's the result of every worker, supervisor, and project partner making safety a priority every single day. It reflects a culture built on accountability, teamwork, and looking out for one another.

Corr Safety is honored to have played a role in supporting this outstanding project and to receive recognition alongside our partners. Congratulations to everyone involved for demonstrating what can be accomplished when safety is more than a requirement—it's a shared value.

Here's to continuing this momentum and setting the standard for excellence in our industry.

may be a July reminder, but line of fire hazards exist year-round across jobsites, industrial facilities, warehouses, refineries, and construction environments. A line of fire hazard occurs when a person is positioned in the path of released energy — whether that energy comes from suspended loads, moving equipment, pressurized systems, flying debris, pinch points, ignition sources, or stored energy that has not been properly controlled. For safety professionals, the focus goes beyond simply identifying the hazard.

It’s about asking: What energy is present? Where could it travel if released? Who could be exposed? What controls are in place before work begins?

At Corr Safety Professionals, we help organizations take a proactive approach to workplace safety through hazard recognition, training, compliance support, and practical safety solutions that protect people before an incident occurs.

This July, let fireworks serve as a reminder: good safety leaders don’t just see the hazard — they see the path.

Hope everyone has a happy and SAFE 4th of July!

The Future of Heat Safety

Water, shade, and rest will always remain the foundation of heat illness prevention. But the next generation of heat safety is moving beyond awareness.

The organizations leading the industry are treating heat exposure the same way they manage other occupational hazards—through engineering controls, objective triggers, technology, data, and proactive planning.

As temperatures continue to rise and heat-related regulations receive greater attention, the companies that embrace Heat Safety 2.0 today will be better positioned to protect their people, maintain productivity, and build a stronger safety culture tomorrow.

Do you view compliance platforms as a necessary evil—or a competitive advantage?

Over the years, I've heard plenty of frustration surrounding platforms like Avetta, ISNetworld, Highwire, and Veriforce. While they can certainly be time-consuming, they are also becoming an essential part of doing business and winning work.

Companies that embrace these systems instead of resisting them often find that they improve their safety programs, strengthen their credibility, and open the door to new opportunities.

I recently shared some thoughts on why compliance platforms should not be considered a burden to your company and how organizations can leverage them to their advantage.

Trenching and excavation work remains one of the most hazardous tasks in construction, but incidents are preventable when we stay alert, communicate clearly, and follow proper safety procedures every time.

At CORR Safety, we believe trench safety starts before work begins:

âś” Plan ahead
âś” Inspect protective systems
âś” Keep spoil piles and equipment away from edges
âś” Never enter an unprotected trench
✔ Speak up when something doesn’t look safe

A few extra minutes spent identifying hazards can prevent serious injuries and save lives. Let’s continue building a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility — on every site, every shift, every day.

Safe trenches. Strong teams. Every time.

Forklift safety starts before the lift.

Whether operating on construction sites or inside warehouses, safe forklift operation comes down to training, awareness, and following the fundamentals every shift.

✔️ Inspect equipment before use
✔️ Wear your seatbelt
✔️ Keep loads low and stable
✔️ Slow down in congested areas
✔️ Watch for pedestrians and overhead hazards

Most forklift incidents are preventable with the right preparation and safe operating practices. Today on , reminds everyone to stay alert and put safety first.
