Have you ever had an emotional experience completely hijack your brain?
You know you have things to do. You know the situation probably doesn't warrant the intensity of your reaction. You might even know exactly what you need to do to feel better.
But knowing and being able to do something about it are two different things!
I recently watched a fascinating video about emerging ADHD research that got me thinking about emotional regulation, neurodivergence, and my own nervous system.
And, well, I recognized myself in some of it.
It also reminded me how quickly we label ourselves and others as too sensitive, too reactive, too emotional, or just plain too much.
But what if we're missing what's happening underneath the behavior?
This week's newsletter gets a little personal as I explore ADHD, rejection sensitivity, and the difference between understanding something intellectually and having the nervous system capacity to respond differently.
A little neuroscience. A little neurospiciness. And a whole lot of curiosity and compassion.
