In Chicago, mosquitoes follow a pretty predictable pattern… and knowing it can help you avoid getting eaten alive 😅🦟
Their favorite time of day?
🌅 Dawn (early morning)
🌆 Dusk (early evening)
Why then? 👀
🌡️ Temperatures are cooler
🌬️ Winds are calmer
🌙 Light levels are low
💧 Humidity is often higher
That combination creates the perfect conditions for mosquitoes to fly, feed, and breed 😬
During peak daylight hours, many mosquitoes actually rest in shaded, cool, and protected areas, waiting for the next feeding window 🏠🌿
So if you’re getting bit during patio time or evening walks… it’s not random at all 👀
A few ways to reduce bites:
🧴 Use repellent during peak hours
👕 Wear light covering clothing at dusk
💧 Remove standing water around your home
🌿 Keep yard areas trimmed and dry
Because in mosquito season… timing matters just as much as location 💪🦟
